The political violence that occurred at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, once again underscored the troubling reality that some on the left appear to support political violence, despite their claims to the contrary. After three attempts on President Trump’s life, we are led to one clear conclusion. Each time such incidents happen, we believe that their actions and social media comments cannot get any more outrageous or despicable. Yet, they continue to prove us wrong.
By now, everyone around the world has seen or heard the despicable comments made by the unfunny, Trump-obsessed “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel. Two days before the horrific event at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Kimmel thought it would be hilarious to do a parody of the dinner on his low-rated late-night TV show, during which he made this particularly disgusting remark: “Our first lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”
Honestly, in President Trump’s younger days, I would expect that Kimmel would already be missing some front teeth. But Trump’s older now, and he’s president, so he had to defend his wife in the only way he could at this point:
It comes in mens and womens and lets your friends know you’re happy to express your views and don’t care what anyone thinks! Cheers!Melania also did a pretty good job of defending herself against the “coward” Kimmel:
“A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.”
“Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”
I have no confidence that the Disney-owned ABC will do a damned thing to Kimmel other than continue to air him and, at most, make some lame statement about his ‘right to free expression.’ We all know why: It’s because the Trumps were the target. If Kimmel had, say, made a similarly off-color remark about the Obamas or their pal, Valerie Jarrett, like Roseanne Barr did, the late-night host would have been bounced off the air before finishing his show.
So maybe, just maybe, when Trump isn’t president anymore, he’ll settle this score and Kimmel will need to see an orthodontist. I’d pay to see that.
